Cold Front Brings New Weather For Weekend

A cold front will help kick off more scattered showers and storms Friday morning and into the afternoon. Nicer weather is in the weekend forecast!
Noon Update: The rain is quickly coming to an end across Kentucky with the heaviest rainfall now out of Kentucky. A few more light showers will likely pop up this afternoon, but most areas will stay dry.

Skies are already clearing north of Lexington. The clouds will continue to move south, allowing for more sunshine by mid-afternoon in most cities.

Temperatures vary widely across the region depending on current conditions. Lexington is one of the warmer cities at 81° while other areas such as Morehead and Danville are in the mid 70s.

Chief Meteorologist Jason Myers will update you on the great weekend forecast tonight at 5, 6, and 11.

A cold front will push through Kentucky today, kicking off another round of scattered showers and storms. As we head into the afternoon, most of the rain will move into southern Kentucky. When dry, expect muggy conditions with a sun/cloud mix and afternoon highs in the mid 80s.

Overnight, drier air will work into the region, clearing our cloud cover. Temperatures will drop into the mid 60s for Saturday morning.

In the afternoon, temperatures will only be a couple degrees cooler compared to Friday, but the lower humidity will help it feel cooler and more comfortable. Skies will be mostly sunny!
