Late tonight into early on Wednesday, a light wintry mix will develop with light snow and some southern Kentucky rain.
This will continue through the first half of Wednesday, producing a dusting to potentially a small fraction of an inch of snow in the grass.
Drier air will return to the Bluegrass on Wednesday afternoon, but snow showers and flurries will continue at night and into Thursday morning in the mountains of southeastern Kentucky.
A second cold front will produce another round of snow showers and flurries on Friday night and into early Saturday morning.
Behind that system, some very cold air will arrive with highs in the 30s on Saturday and Sunday, and lows dipping into the teens on Saturday night.
High pressure will provide bright but chilly weather as the weekend ends and new workweek begins.
