Summer officially begins at 7:09 PM, when the direct rays of the sun will strike the Tropic of Cancer, out in the Pacific.  It'll be a hot one with highs around 91°, partly sunny skies, and isolated afternoon thunderstorms, especially in eastern Kentucky.  A few of the eastern Kentucky t-storms may survive a couple of hours after dark in eastern Kentucky before dissipating.  Thursday will also be hot with highs near 90°, and isolated afternoon thunderstorms possible in any part of the region.  A cold front will arrive on Friday, producing scattered thunderstorms.  Cooler air will follow for the weekend, with partly sunny skies and highs in the middle to upper 80s.  A second cold front will spark isolated thunderstorms on Monday of next week, and dry, relatively cool weather will follow for Tuesday with highs in the lower 80s.
