A Mild Stretch Before Rain, Colder Air Returns

A Mild Stretch Before Rain, Colder Air Returns

An active wind from the south will continue to combine with sunshine, boosting temperatures into the mid 50s this afternoon.
Temperatures are peaking in the middle 50s across most of the area this afternoon, thanks to a combination of bright skies and an active breeze from the south.  We'll remain above freezing tonight as the wind continues to blow from the southwest.  Tuesday will be even milder with highs near 60, but some rain showers will arrive on Tuesday evening and expand in coverage across the area on Wednesday.  Low pressure will exit to the east on Thursday morning, causing rain showers to end early in the day.  A second storm system will arrive on Friday evening with rain showers that will increase and become more widespread on Saturday.  It is possible that a wintry mix occurs in northern Kentucky on Saturday while the rest of the area sees rain.  On the back end of the storm system, the entire area will turn colder, and rain showers will likely mix with and change to snow showers on Saturday night or early on Sunday before precipitation ends, and temperatures transition from above normal to below normal.
