Heat Advisories continue across Owen, Grant, Pendleton, Bracken, Mason, Robertson and Lewis Counties, this afternoon and evening.

It's a hot afternoon, with temperatures in the Bluegrass Region hovering near 92°, but extra humidity is driving the heat index into the upper 90s to near 100°.  Scattered thunderstorms are bringing relief to some areas, mainly in eastern Kentucky.  Tonight will be warm and muggy with lows near 72 degrees.  Wednesday will also be hot and humid with highs in the lower 90s, but thunderstorms will become more widespread on Wednesday afternoon, Thursday afternoon and Friday as a cold front approaches from the north and eventually pushes southeast, through the area.  The week will end slightly cooler with seasonable highs in the middle to upper 80s.  Central Kentucky will have a mainly dry weekend under a partly sunny sky, but isolated thunderstorms will remain possible over the high ground of southeastern Kentucky.  Readings will recover to near 90° on Sunday afternoon, and 91° on Monday afternoon with isolated thunderstorms returning to the Bluegrass Region as the new workweek begins.
