After a foggy start to the day, scattered thunderstorms are crossing the area as a slow-moving front gradually drifts north across the Bluegrass Region. Some of the storms will produce lots of lightning and briefly heavy rain. Highs will be near 79 degrees today under mostly cloudy skies. While it will not rain all day, additional, scattered thunderstorms will occur in the afternoon. A few spotty showers and thunderstorms will linger tonight, and patchy fog will return late at night. Lows will remain well above average, bottoming out around 63 degrees. Temperatures will rise even higher through midweek, as readings soar into the middle to upper 80s! Isolated thunderstorms will still be possible on Wednesday and Thursday, but they will cover less ground, as a ridge of high pressure builds in from the west and southwest. Scattered thunderstorms will increase once again at the end of the week and into the weekend, as a front draws near from the north, once again.
