A Colder Wind Delivers Winter's Return

Wind Advisories are in effect again today, but this time it will be a chilling wind from west. Temperatures will steadily fall today.
Wind Advisories are in effect across central and northern Kentucky today, and a Lake Wind Advisory is in effect across eastern and southeastern Kentucky.

The final thunderstorms are exiting far eastern Kentucky early this morning, and winds are shifting on the heels of a strong cold front.  Cold, blustery breezes will blow from the west and northwest today, occasionally gusting to near 40 mph.  Morning temperatures are in the 50s, but we will fall through the 40s and 30s later today as scattered, lighter rain showers cross the area and mix with some sleet pellets and eventually snow showers.  Only a very light accumulation may occur in the grass, in eastern Kentucky.  We'll bottom out around 26 tonight and only recover to 38 degrees tomorrow.  The final flurries will exit to the east on Saturday.  High pressure will produce partly sunny skies along with a gradual warming trend on Sunday and Monday.  Showers and eventually thunderstorms will return on a very mild Tuesday and Wednesday, before chillier air follows another cold front on Thursday of next week.  A shower or two may linger on Thursday.
