Every competitor plays to win. That's why you play.
But what if a win would actually hurt your team?
What if you needed to lose in order to learn? That's what John Calipari hoped for on Tuesday in hindsight.
A win, according to Cal, would've done more damage than a loss to Michigan State.
For all the wrong the team did, if it had come back to win, it would've erased all that...and that's not a good thing.
But Cal had guys crying in locker room in Chicago. That is a good thing.
Not like the team last year when Ryan Harrow hung his head following the loss to Vanderbilt in SEC Tournament though in Cal's mind.
Hear from Cal in the video.
