Florida jumped ahead of Kentucky by 140-points on day two of the annual 'Big Blue Slam' blood drive competition.

Organizers said the effort in Kentucky was hurt by single-digit temperatures, while Florida enjoyed sunshine and readings in the 60's.

Here are the totals after two days:

  • Florida  741
  • Kentucky  601
The blood drive continues through Friday.

Kentucky Blood Center (KBC) donor centers will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and there will be a number of blood drives on the University of Kentucky campus and at various other locations throughout the region.

'Big Blue Slam' donors will receive a commemorative T-shirt and will have a chance to win a package for two to the SEC Men's Basketball Tournament in Atlanta, which includes a three-night stay at the Westin Peachtree Plaza.
