LEXINGTON, Ky. - Kentucky freshman Michael Kidd-Gilchrist was featured in the documentary "Prayer for a Perfect Season," which premiered on HBO Tuesday night. The film follows Kidd-Gilchrist's high school, St. Patrick's (NJ), during its quest for a national championship last season. It also delves into the personal tragedies Kidd-Gilchrist has endured. He lost his father at age two. Then, just hours before Kidd-Gilchrist's national signing day ceremony, his uncle, Darrin Kidd - who was like a father to him - suddenly died of a heart attack. UK coach John Calipari says his players have a better understanding of Kidd-Gilchrist's background and struggles after seeing the film.
