LEXINGTON, Ky. - Kentucky basketball coach John Calipari told his team during practice Thursday, "We want to be the best defensive team in the country," according to coachcal.com. The Cats have several defensive-minded players. Calipari says Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is already at DeAndre Liggins' level as a defender. Anthony Davis' teammates say he blocks everything. And Calipari says Marquis Teague plays so physical on defense, the coach is worried about his starting point guard getting into foul trouble early. Kentucky also has several players athletic enough to guard any position on the floor, which may lead Calipari to employ a strategy former Louisville coach Denny Crum used during his career.
