Lauren joined the ABC 36 team in December 2011 to anchor alongside Doug High on Good Morning Kentucky and ABC 36 News at noon. After a few years away, Lauren is elated to be back in Lexington, her home away from home. Originally from Cincinnati, Lauren made the short move down I-75 to study Journalism at the University of Kentucky, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. While at UK, Lauren also minored in Music and Linguistics and had her first on-air experiences on WUKY-FM, WRFL-FM and UKTV.
Most recently, Lauren was a Morning Anchor, Producer, and Reporter at WDAY-TV in Fargo, North Dakota. While there, she covered a wide range of news including plenty of weather events including the record-breaking Spring Flood of 2011. She was also part of Fargo's first all-female anchor team.
Before going to Fargo, Lauren spent a couple of years at KCAU-TV in Sioux City, Iowa as a Weekend Anchor and Reporter. She helped her station earn many awards for breaking news coverage, reporting on everything from propane explosions to severe weather. Lauren was one of the first reporters on the scene when a deadly tornado hit the Little Sioux Boy Scout Camp in June 2008, making national headlines. She also helped produce a weekly health segment with the local Susan G. Komen affiliate concerning breast cancer awareness and treatment.
Lauren's broadcast career started in her hometown of Cincinnati at WLWT-TV where she worked behind the scenes as a Production Assistant and reporter for the station's website.
When Lauren isn't covering the day's top stories, she enjoys cooking, being outdoors, reading, music, volunteering and catching up on her favorite TV shows. She also is an avid traveler, having lived in France during a semester in college and visiting over a dozen countries. You may also catch her at various Lexington establishments playing trivia, belting out some karaoke, or cheering on the Wildcats.
