Ian Preston joined ABC 36 in March of 2012 as a general assignment reporter. Ian comes to ABC 36 from Owensboro, Kentucky where he worked as a bureau reporter for WTVW/WEHT Local located in Henderson, KY. Ian single handedly covered Owensboro and the surrounding Green River counties from March 2010 until March 2012.  Ian is a native of the northwest suburbs of Chicago, IL in a little town called Johnsburg, only a few miles from the Wisconsin border. He followed in his dad’s footsteps attending Southern Illinois University-Carbondale earning a degree in Radio/TV News with a minor in Journalism. While in college, Ian worked for the local ABC affiliate WSIL TV-3 in Carterville as an assistant producer, reporter and photographer. At the same time Ian worked for the SIU TV station WSIU as the stations sports director/news anchor. It was love at first sight for Ian upon coming to Lexington. An avid sports fan and outdoor enthusiast Ian feels right at home in Wildcat country. Ian can be reached at ipreston@wtvq.com
