Fayette Fried Green Tomatoes

You'll need:
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup cornmeal
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
6 Kentucky Proud green tomatoes
1/4 cup bacon drippings
Mix the flour, cornmeal, salt and pepper in a shallow dish. Cut the tomatoes into 1/2 inch thick slices. Dredge in the flour mixture to coat. Fry in the hot bacon drippings until golden brown, turning once.
Yields 6 servings.
