Former Kentucky quarterback and current assistant Andre Woodson expects the Cats' current QB to be one of the best to ever play the position for UK.
LEXINGTON, Ky. - Andre Woodson knows a little something about University of Kentucky passing records and says the Cats' current quarterback is going to break a few before he's done.
Woodson owns UK records for the most career touchdown passes as well as most in a single season. No Wildcat has more consecutive pass attempts without an interception than Woodson, who holds the top two spots in that statistic.
So, when Woodson said on Tuesday that he thinks sophomore Maxwell Smith will break records and be one of the best quarterbacks to ever play at Kentucky by the end of his college career, that's quite the compliment.
Through two games this season, Smith has completed 73% of his 89 pass attempts and thrown six touchdowns against no interceptions.
Saturday against Kent State, Smith threw for the most yards (354) by a UK QB since Woodson in 2007 (430 vs. Tennessee).
