Kentucky's Twany Beckham becomes eligible to play Saturday, but will he play and what's his role?
LEXINGTON, Ky. - Mississippi State transfer and Louisville native Twany Beckham becomes eligible to play for Kentucky Saturday. Beckham's been a point guard most of his high school and college career, but UK coach John Calipari says Beckham won't play point for the Cats.
Calipari says Beckham's biggest contributions will come on defense. Beckham does not fully understand how UK plays the point guard position, according to Calipari, and Jarrod Polson is currently ahead of Beckham in that regard.
Beckham's teammate Anthony Davis says Beckham is a talented player who brings energy and can make key contributions to the team. Beckham points to his experience in the SEC with Mississippi State as something he'll be able to pass along to his teammates.
Beckham says he'll be a bit emotional for his first game in the blue and white in Rupp Arena.
