UConn transfer Samarie Walker becomes eligible just in time for No. 8 Kentucky's game at No. 3 Notre Dame.

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Connecticut transfer Samarie Walker will be eligible to play for Kentucky this weekend when the 8th-ranked Cats visit No. 3 Notre Dame Sunday.

Walker played one semester at Connecticut her freshman year before transferring to UK. With the Huskies she averaged 6 points and 6 rebounds in 18 minutes a game.

Walker was the 10th rated overall prospect by ESPN's Hoopgurlz coming out of high school. She was a McDonald's All-American teammate of fellow Cat Jennifer O'Neill.

UK coach Matthew Mitchell says he anticipates Walker playing on Sunday and making Kentucky a better team.
