Kentucky receivers coach Tee Martin is leaving for the same position at Southern California.
LEXINGTON, Ky. - It all started late Wednesday night with a tweet from Southern Cal quarterback Matt Barkley, in which he welcomed Kentucky receivers coach Tee Martin to the Trojan family. Before midnight, the University of Kentucky confirmed - Martin has indeed accepted the same position at USC.
Martin has served as UK's receivers coach for two years. Following his first year, Alabama came calling, attempting to pull him away from UK. Head coach Joker Phillips responded with a new title for Martin, passing game coordinator.
After this past season, Martin was linked to an opening on Tennessee's staff, Martin's alma mater, where he led the Volunteers to the 1998 national championship.
His value to the Kentucky program was not so much coaching receivers as it was in the recruiting arena.
