There's an old coaches' saying that the biggest improvement a team will make the entire season is from week one to week two.

Mark Stoops is hoping that saying reins true this week as his team comes off a 9-point loss to a former Division I-AA school for the second straight season.

Of course there's plenty of time left to improve and the Cats are still getting big-time recruits and transfers like defensive back Michael Mathis out of Kilgore Community College in Texas last night.

The same school JUCO tight end Steven Borden came from.

But does Stoops really buy into that old saying about getting much better from week one to two?

More in the video from Stoops.
