Stoops Confident In Towles

It was a four-man race for the starting quarterback position in Lexington...and today, Mark Stoops picked his man.

Kentucky will be headed up, at least against UT-Martin, by Patrick Towles.

Towles beat out freshman phenom Drew Barker and Reese Phillips for the job as Max Smith was on the outside looking in.

No backup has been named just yet by Stoops, but coach did speak highly of his new starting QB...a guy who, two seasons ago took the field his freshman year, then fell off after injury, and now he's back right in the thick of things.
