Kentucky women's basketball senior Keyla Snowden was not interested in playing for coach Matthew Mitchell coming out of Lexington Catholic high school.

LEXINGTON, Ky. - When Kentucky senior Keyla Snowden was deciding on where to play college basketball, she was not sold on playing for current UK head coach Matthew Mitchell.

Coming out of Lexington Catholic High School, Snowden's scholarship offers were from mostly small schools. Mitchell says that's because she was overlooked. Her size was questioned. She was seen as nothing more than a three-point shooter. Mitchell saw her as a high-level Division I prospect.

At the time, however, Mitchell was the head coach at Morehead State and was recruiting Snowden. Snowden had no interest in the Eagles, according to Mitchell.

Snowden chose to play at Akron, but transferred to Kentucky.
