Scott Co. Upsets Henry Clay

Highlights from high school baseball district tournament play Monday night, including Scott County's upset of Henry Clay.

High school baseball district tournaments began across the Commonwealth Monday night. One of the biggest upsets came from the 42nd district where top 20-ranked Henry Clay's season ended with a 2-1 loss to Scott County.

The host Cardinals clinched a spot in the 11th region tournament and will face Bryan Station in the district finals Tuesday night at 6 PM. The Defenders beat Sayre 14-0 in five innings to also earn a berth in the region tourney.

Tates Creek defeated Lexington Christian Academy 10-1 in the opening game of the 43rd district tournament at Paul L. Dunbar. The Commodores will play the No. 1 ranked team in the state, Lexington Catholic, in the semifinals Tuesday night at 8 PM.

Bourbon County breezed by Paris in the 40th district semifinals at George Rogers Clark, winning 10-0 in five innings. The Colonels qualified for the 10th region tourney and play for the district championship Wednesday night at 6 PM.
