Russell Leaves Football Cats For Bat Cats

Quarterback Jacob Russell has left the Kentucky football team but will stay at UK and instead play baseball for the Cats.

LEXINGTON, Ky. - The University of Kentucky has confirmed that quarterback Jacob Russell has left the football team but is remaining in school and will join the UK baseball team.

The former Anderson County standout went to Eastern Kentucky University out of high school and played quarterback in several games as a freshman.

Russell then transferred to UK and one of the highlights of the spring game this past April, a 54-yard touchdown run.
