Both the old and new receivers are fairly unproven, especially at the level Coach Stoops and company expect the team to be at.

But the group is honing its collective hands every day after practice using tennis balls to sure up the grip...and so far it seems to be working.

With a lot fewer balls making their way past guys even after hours on the field.

More from Stoops in the video.

A Tennis equipment supply company in lexington (Active Sports) sold the tennis ball machines to the UK Football program back in the spring. Whenever we called the company that sells this particular model of tennis ball machine, they then asked almost immediately if the order was for a college football program. I replied that it was, and then they said that (without even mentioning the university that it was for) that Coach Bob Stoops at Oklahoma was seen on ESPN a couple years ago with the tennis ball machine, and that since then, this type of machine has been bought by many college and high school football programs. spencer@active-sports.com
