Former Arkansas and Louisville coach Bobby Petrino's father told the Courier-Journal that his son is interested in Kentucky's opening.

"I just know this, that he's interested in Kentucky," Bob Petrino, Sr. told the Louisville Courier-Journal about his son - former Arkansas and Louisville coach Bobby Petrino.

Petrino's father added, "He told me he might take the first job he gets offered."

Former ABC 36 Sports Director Kent Spencer, who is now at WHAS in Louisville, spoke with Petrino's agent, who said he intends to sit back and let UK go through its due process.

Petrino's agent declined to comment on the Courier-Journal article, likely because he represents three other candidates for the Kentucky opening - Louisiana Tech head coach Sonny Dykes, Louisiana Lafayette head coach Mark Hudspeth as well as Texas Tech offensive coordinator and former Wildcat Neal Brown.

Petrino was fired from Arkansas in April following a motorcycle accident involving him and a 25-year-old woman. That brought to light details of Petrino's romantic relationship with the woman - an athletic department employee he had hired - a relationship about which he had not been forthcoming with athletic director Jeff Long.
