RICHMOND, Ky. – NFL training camps are now in full swing and two former Eastern Kentucky University football players are looking to secure spots on the final rosters – Aaron Adams and Patrick Ford.
Adams was an offensive lineman for the Colonels from 2009-12. A two-time first team All-OVC performer as well as 2012 All-American, Adams helped the Colonels rank second in the OVC and 20th nationally in rushing yards per game (205.8 ypg) as a senior. Adams spent last season on the Green Bay Packers’ practice squad and is one of six offensive tackles on the Packers’ training camp roster this summer.
Ford was also an EKU offensive lineman from 2009-12. The native of Richmond, Kentucky was a three-year starter on the EKU offensive line, serving as both a guard and tackle in his time with the Colonels. Ford twice earned All-OVC honors including first team accolades following his junior campaign in 2011. This is Ford’s second year participating in training camp with the New York Jets.The Eastern Kentucky football regular season schedule begins with a Thursday night road game at Robert Morris on Aug. 28. EKU’s home opener is slated for Sept. 13 against Morehead State.
