John Calipari announced on ESPN that Kentucky freshman Nerlens Noel has been cleared to play, which the NCAA confirmed to several media outlets.

LEXINGTON, Ky. - John Calipari told ESPN's Hannah Storm that Kentucky freshman Nerlens Noel has been cleared to practice and play games. "Everything's good to go," Calipari said on Sportscenter around 10:30 Wednesday morning.

Later, the NCAA first confirmed to USA Today via email that it had cleared Noel to practice and compete.

Noel himself had already said that he'd been gained eligibility academically.

Sports Illustrated reported that NCAA was investigating people surrounding Noel during his recruitment as well as how he paid for some unofficial visits.
