Morehead State Clinches Spot In OVC Tournament

Eagles Rebound After 16-Win Season In 2013. Now Move On To Double-Elimination Tournament in Jackson, Tenn.
MOREHEAD, Ky. -- The Morehead State baseball team has garnered the fifth seed for the double-elimination Ohio Valley Conference Tournament this week in Jackson, Tenn. The Eagles will face fourth-seeded SIU Edwardsville in the opening round Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET.

The event will be held May 21-25 at The Ballpark at Jackson (formerly Pringles Park) in Jackson. This year marks the fifth year in a row the event will be held at the venue, which is home of the Jackson Generals, the AA-affiliate of the Seattle Mariners.

Morehead State (28-26) will be making its second appearance in the last three years, having last qualified for the tournament in 2012. The Eagles went 1-2 at SIUE (21-31) earlier this season. All of MSU's tournament games will feature a free live audio broadcast on MSUEagles.com.
 
Southeast Missouri earned the top seed, followed by Tennessee Tech. Those two received byes into the second round and will play round-one winners on Thursday. SEMO will play the lowest remaining team to advance. Jacksonville State, which MSU just defeated twice in the final series, is the third seed. Eastern Illinois grabbed the final seed. EIU and JSU will square off Wednesday at 8 p.m.
