Lady Eagles going to postseason for second time under former UK women's coach Warren Lipka.
MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State will make its third NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament appearance in school history on Saturday when it travels to Atlantic Coast Conference opponent Wake Forest.  Kick-off from W. Dennie Spry Stadium is set for 7 p.m. ET.

"It's an honor to be in this 64-team field," Head Coach Warren Lipka said.  "I have great respect for the coaches and players at Wake Forest.  Saturday will be a big test for us, but our young ladies are playing with a lot of confidence right now and I think they're up for the challenge."

Morehead State earned the Ohio Valley Conference's automatic bid on Sunday with a 1-0 victory over UT Martin in the finale of the league tournament.  The Eagles, who are 10-10-1 overall, head into the NCAA Tournament with victories in seven of their last eight matches.

Wake Forest registered an at-large bid for this year's national tournament.  The Demon Deacons, who are 10-6-2 overall, have posted wins over Top-20 opponents Duke and Portland this season.

MSU participated in the 2008 and 2010 NCAA Tournaments. The Eagles dropped a 2-0 decision to WFU in the 2008 national tournament, which is the only previous meeting between the schools.

Lipka will be taking his ninth team to the NCAA Tournament.  He led Southeastern Conference member Kentucky to seven postseason berths, and this marks his second with the Eagles.

The Morehead State-Wake Forest winner will face Monmouth (17-1-2) or Penn State (14-6-1) the following weekend.  The ACC earned all four No. 1 seeds for the 32nd annual championship.

Morehead State's last NCAA Soccer Tournament appearance, in 2010, resulted in a 2-0 setback at West Virginia.  MSU's last NCAA Tournament appearance, in any sport, was volleyball in 2011.
