Montgomery Advances In Toyota Classic

In boys' high school basketball, Montgomery County beat Dixie Heights, host Scott County lost to Collins but the Scott County girls won in the Toyota Classic Wednesday night.

GEORGETOWN, Ky. - Omar Prewitt had 28 points and 15 rebounds to help lead Montgomery County past Dixie Heights 67-52 in the Toyota Classic at Scott County Wednesday night.

The Indians trailed 33-29 at the half and were down six with 1:37 left in the third quarter before going on a 16-3 run - eight of those points coming from Bryan Wallace, who finished with 14.

Tyler Jones contributed seven points, seven rebounds and eight assists.

Host Scott County lost to Collins 61-54 in the other boys' game at the Toyota Classic Wednesday.

The Scott County girls beat Bourbon County 84-76 behind 29 points from Laura Szorenyi and double-doubles from Tereka Guyn and Laura Boehm. Guyn had 24 points, 15 rebounds, three blocked shots and three steals. Boehm had 12 points and 10 rebounds.

7:00 PM - Covington Catholic vs. Elizabethtown boys
8:45 PM - Perry County Central vs. Lafayette boys
