Former Kentucky linebacker Micah Johnson signed with the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad Tuesday.

CINCINNATI, Oh. - Former Kentucky linebacker Danny Trevathan signed with the Cincinnati Bengals as a practice squad player on Tuesday. It's Johnson's first regular season assignment in the NFL since being released by Kansas City in the preseason.

Johnson signed with the New York Giants as a free agent out of Kentucky in 2010 but was released before training camp. The Miami Dolphins then picked him up. Johnson played in the Dolphins 2010 season opener, recording a tackle on special teams. However, he was released the following week.

The Kansas City Chiefs then signed Johnson to their practice squad, and he opened up the preseason with the Chiefs this year before being let go on Sept. 3.
