Mays Connection To Teague, Harrow

Mays Connection To Teague, Harrow

Senior transfer fitting in well after being worried early.
Julius Mays spent two years at North Carolina State before transferring to Wright State for his junior season.

Now, Mays will finish his collegiate career in Lexington with the Wildcats.

But even though he's been a stranger several times over the past few years in new places, he's not a stranger to Kentucky.

Mays played for former Cat Marquis Teague's dad in eighth grade while in Indiana.  He often practiced alongside not only Marquis, but older brother Jeff as well.

Mays has spent several summers growing up visiting his grandmother in Middlesboro, Ky.  For more on that check out this story.

As for why he's now a Wildcat, look to the past again.  Mays is reunited with former Wolfpack teammate Ryan Harrow, who sat out last season to play his final year of college basketball with the Cats.

As for fitting in with another new group of talented players in Lexington, Mays says he was worried at first, but after the early jitters, he's been best friends with new Cats Willie Cauley-Stein, Archie Goodwin and Alex Poythress.
