The football Cats have had QB competitions the past few seasons...always ending in at least some playing time for the other guys involved even after a starter is named.

This year is no different.  Jalen Whitlow got the nod against Western Kentucky, then Max Smith took over for Miami (Ohio) and Louisville before taking a seat with a shoulder injury and giving way to Whitlow in the second half against the Cards.

But after a bye week, Smith is once again rested up and good to go...and maybe even looking better than he did before the injury.

Giving him an opportunity to help the team move forward unlike last season after the South Carolina game A.C. joint injury.

Mark Stoops said Smith didn't throw last week at all and is on a pitch count this week.

Hear from Stoops, Neal Brown and Max Smith in the videos.
