MSU's Rawe Breaks School Record For Hits

Junior right fielder now owns Morehead State's single-season hits record at 90 and counting.

Morehead State junior right fielder Brandon Rawe set the program’s single-season hits record in Thursday night’s 16-7 victory over Ohio Valley Conference opponent Jacksonville State.

He went 3-for-5 with a first-inning single (that broke the record set by Andrew Deeds of 87 hits back in 2012), a third-inning double and a seventh-inning double.  He also recorded two runs and one RBI.

Rawe is hitting .400 overall (90-for-225) and .445 in league play (53-for-119).  The Matthews, N.C., native has started all 52 contests this season.  He also has 47 runs, 20 doubles, 10 homers and 43 RBI.  Rawe leads the OVC in hits and doubles...and ranks in the top 30 nationally for hits, doubles and batting average.
