UK junior safety Ashely Lowery was under the influence of alcohol at the time of his May car crash according to a police report obtained by the Lexington Herald-Leader today...and cited for DUI among other charges.

The report states the results of a urine test indicated Lowery's blood alcohol content nearly two hours after the 4 a-m accident on May 4th was .139.  The Georgia state legal limit is .08.

The 6'1, 219-pounder out of Cleveland, Georgia was thrown from his vehicle nearly 100 feet away from the car's final resting point after turning over five times in a diagram of the accident in the police report.

UK Athletics released a statement for coach Mark Stoops saying the program will let the legal process play out and address any reprimands once it does.

It could take anywhere from six months to a year for the case to go to court.

Lowery is 20 years old.

For DUI The University of Kentucky should suspend him until he is cleared by the Courts . The Athletics Department needs to stay out of it altogether . I think they should consider him off the team and plan on someone else playing the position.
