Legends Switching From Astros To Royals

The Lexington Legends is switching its affiliation from the Houston Astros to Kansas City Royals.

LEXINGTON, Ky. - A source close to the situation who asked to remain anonymous has told ABC 36 that the Lexington Legends is switching its affiliation from the Houston Astros to the Kansas City Royals.

A news conference is scheduled for 10 AM Thursday morning to make the official announcement.

The Legends have been the Astros low-A affiliate since the club was founded in 2001.

Ivy Walls Management currently owns the Legends and also owns the Royals' triple-A affiliate in Omaha.

Ivy Walls chairman William Shea is the father of Legends' CEO and president Andy Shea.
