MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Former Morehead State student-athlete and current Denver Nuggets star Kenneth Faried will host his first All-Star Basketball Camp on June 13-14 at MSU’s Johnson Arena.

The camp will run both days -- Thursday (6/13) and Friday (6/14) -- from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. ET.  The cost is $50 per camper.  Registration will begin inside Johnson Arena on Thursday at 8 a.m.

The event is open to boys and girls in kindergarten through 12th grade.  Space is limited to 150 individuals.  To reserve a spot, call former MSU player Maze Stallworth at 502-550-1692.

The camp will include hands-on teaching from Faried and instruction on individual fundamentals.  It will also feature competitions in ball handling, passing, shooting and five-on-five.

Members of Morehead State’s 2009 Ohio Valley Conference Tournament championship team will be on hand.  An autograph session for attendees will follow Friday’s camp.

Faried helped Morehead State to a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances (2009, 2011) and arguably the school’s biggest victory over Louisville his senior season.

Faried was named the OVC’s Male Athlete of the Year as a senior.  He was a two-time OVC Basketball Player of the Year (2010-11) and three-time Defensive Player of the Year (2009-11).

Chosen as the 2011 Kentucky Sportsman of the Year, Faried was selected to multiple All-America lists his final campaign.  He was also tabbed by the National Association of Basketball Coaches as the National Defensive Player of the Year after his final year.

Faried was taken by Denver with the 22nd pick in the 2011 National Basketball Association Draft after finishing his college career with 1,673 rebounds.  The total set the NCAA’s modern-era record, which was previously held by 14-time NBA All-Star Tim Duncan.

In 2012, Faried was tabbed to the NBA All-Rookie First-Team.  In 2013, he was invited to the NBA Rising Stars Challenge, participated in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest and picked up the prestigious J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award for his efforts off the floor.

Faried started 80 games for the Nuggets during his second pro campaign.  He averaged 11.5 points, 9.2 rebounds and shot 55 percent from the field in 28.1 minutes per game.
