Joker: Towles can handle the pressure

Kentucky head football coach Joker Phillips says incoming freshman QB Patrick Towles can handle the pressure of starting.

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Kentucky begins spring football practice Wednesday. Tuesday, UK head coach Joker Phillips announced a couple position changes heading into spring ball. Marcus Caffey will be moving from running back to cornerback. Thelteus "Bookie" Cobbins, who competed at quarterback last season, has moved to wide receiver. With QB Morgan Newton recovering from off-season surgery, Anderson County alum and EKU transfer Jacob Russell will back up starter Maxwell Smith behind center. However, the buzz continues to be about a QB who doesn't enroll at UK until the fall semester, Kentucky Mr. Football Patrick Towles. Phillips said starting would be a lot of pressure to put on Towles, but he can handle it.
