It has been a tough two weeks for the Georgetown College men's basketball team. Starting with an overtime loss at home against a surging Campbellsville University, the No. 16 Tigers have dropped three of the past four games in Mid-South Conference play.
All three losses have been close down the stretch, but Georgetown has just not been able to put it together for the full 40 minutes. Thursday against Lindsey Wilson College, the Tigers pulled the game within four several times inside the final five minutes. However, the Blue Raiders (14-13, 5-10) had an answer every time. LWC hit 46.7 percent from the deep and walked out with an 86-76 win.
Monty Wilson led with 18 points, and four teammates also tallied double digits, but it was not enough. D'on Hall led all-scorers with 22 points for LWC. Deondre McWhorter was the lone player with a double-double, 15 points and 11 rebounds. The glass work was a game-high.
Dominique Hagans had 13 points, Montavious Marc 12 and Noah Cottrill 10.
Georgetown returns to action 4 pm Saturday on Senior Day against Cumberland University. The Tigers will honor Wilson, Marc, Branden Burdette and Russ Middleton.
