RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University right-handed pitcher Anthony Bazzani has been chosen as one of the top 100 college baseball seniors by Perfect Game.
Bazzani is rated 39th on the list. The Stockbridge, Ga., native missed most of last season due to an injury. He was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 31st round following his junior season in 2012.
In four appearances during the 2013 season, Bazzani was 1-2 with a 6.38 ERA. However, as a junior he excelled out of the bullpen, finishing 1-1 with eight saves and a 3.40 ERA. He did not allow an earned run in 21 of his 27 appearances and finished fifth in the Ohio Valley Conference in saves.
Eastern Kentucky opens the 2014 season on Friday at Alabama State.
