RICHMOND, Ky. – It was an awfully cold day outside for late March, but Pro Day went on as planned for several former members of Eastern Kentucky University football team Thursday afternoon.
Offensive lineman Aaron Adams, wide receiver Cameron Bailey, defensive back Justin Bell, running back Matt Denham, defensive back Brooklyn Fox, wide receiver Tyrone Goard, offensive lineman Patrick Ford and quarterback T.J. Pryor were the EKU participants this year.
Representatives from about 15 National Football League and Canadian Football League teams were on hand to watch the players go through a wide assortment of weight room activities and on-field drills. Players took part in the broad jump, long jump, vertical jump and 225-pound bench press in the weight room. On the field, the participants lined up for the 40-yard dash, 20-yard shuttle, three-cone drill and position specific drills.
Goard, a native of Charleston, W.Va., was invited to the NFL Combine a month ago and is projected as a late-round draft pick in next month’s NFL Draft.
Spring practice for the current Colonels is set to begin next Monday, March 25. Eastern’s spring game is scheduled for Saturday, April 20 at 4 p.m.
