UK hoops coach Matthew Mitchell says Samantha Drake's drop in playing time is due to coming back from break not ready.

LEXINGTON, Ky. - After averaging about 20 minutes a game before Christmas, Kentucky sophomore Samantha Drake has played a total of ten minutes in the Cats two games since the holiday. Drake's not injured. She's just not ready, according to UK hoops head coach Matthew Mitchell.

Before the break for Christmas, Drake had scored in double figures in six of UK's seven previous games. She was in the starting line up the first game back from break against Middle Tennessee. Mitchell said she didn't have the energy he expects and sat her on the bench much of the game.

The following week leading up to UK's SEC opener at Florida, Mitchell said he didn't see the preparation he needed to see from Drake in practice to give her a chance to play against the Gators.
