Kentucky's national player of the year Anthony Davis says his parents were divided on the decision to leave early for the NBA.
LEXINGTON, Ky. - Anthony Davis, who earned multiple national player of the year awards and Final Four most outstanding player in helping Kentucky claim its eighth national championship, says his mom and dad had trouble agreeing on whether or not their son should return to UK for his sophomore season or enter the NBA draft. Mom wanted her son to stay and further his education. Dad saw that as crazy talk.
Ultimately, dad's argument won out. Davis, the projected number one overall draft pick, does say, however, leaving behind the college-student life for pay-for-play is a change of scenery that he's not sure he's ready for just yet.
