Anthony Davis had 9 points for Team USA in a 156-73 Olympic victory over Nigeria on Thursday.
LONDON - Team USA set a record for most points scored in the Olympics with a 156-73 win over Nigeria on Thursday. Former Kentucky Wildcat Anthony Davis had 9 of them.
Davis was a perfect 4-4 from the floor, following up his 5-5 effort in Team USA's win over Tunisia Tuesday.
Davis also grabbed 6 rebounds in 15 minutes of playing time.
Carmelo Anthony, who led Team USA with 37 points Thursday, said of Davis, "He fits in perfectly. He fits in well. The encouragement that we give him out there on the basketball court when he’s in the game, just talking to him, he’s learning as he goes along.
"We have guys that are constantly teaching him and giving him advice while he’s out there on the basketball court or when he’s on the bench watching, and when his number is called he’s going out there and he’s producing.
"So you can’t ask for anything more from Anthony Davis than what he’s giving us," Anthony said.
