Former Kentucky coach Joe B. Hall had a statue in his honor unveiled Tuesday outside the new Wildcat Coal Lodge.

LEXINGTON, Ky. - A 400-pound statue of former Kentucky basketball head coach Joe B. Hall was unveiled Tuesday just outside the school's new Wildcat Coal Lodge, which houses UK's players.

Hall was instrumental in getting UK its original Wildcat Lodge.

Hall had unlikely success in his 13 years (1973 - '85) as the UK coach, given that he followed the legendary Adolph Rupp.

Hall led Kentucky to eight SEC championships, three final fours and the 1978 national championship.
