Kentucky opens SEC play against a Vanderbilt team that lost most of its production from a season ago.

LEXINGTON, Ky. - This is not the Vanderbilt Solid Blue fans have become accustomed to seeing challenge Kentucky - and win a couple - these past three seasons.

The Vanderbilt team UK will open SEC play against in Nashville Thursday night relies on seven freshmen, five sophomores and two juniors.

The Commodores lost nearly all of its production from the team that beat Kentucky to win last season's SEC tournament.

"We’ve done okay down there. We haven’t played our best games but I’ll tell you, every game we’ve played against them have been wars. For three years they had the same team," John Calipari said of Kentucky's contests against the Commodores. "Now they’re going through what we’re going through with a totally different team but for three years they had the same team and it was an outstanding team and they were warriors. Every game we played against them was a war.”
