Kentucky opens SEC play Saturday at No. 14 Florida looking to snap a 25-year losing streak to the Gators.
LEXINGTON, Ky. - Kentucky begins SEC play at No. 14 Florida Saturday as 24-point underdogs. The Gators have won 25 straight in the annual series, which is the nation's longest active win streak over a major conference opponent.
UK's last win against Florida came in 1986: 10 to 3 in Lexington.
The Gators have a total of 45 wins against the Wildcats, which are the most wins for Florida over any school in program history.
In Joker Phillips' 22 total years at Kentucky - as a player, assistant and now head coach - he has never beaten the Gators.
Over the last four seasons, the final scores in the series have been 48-10 (2011), 48-14 (2010), 41-7 (2009) and 63-5 (2008). During that span, Kentucky has been outscored in the first quarter 94-3.
