Kentucky's freshmen quarterbacks Patrick Towles and Jalen Whitlow will rotate against Mississippi State Saturday.

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Kentucky will play both of its true freshmen quarterbacks against No. 20 Mississippi State Saturday to replace injured starter Max Smith.

Smith is out indefinitely after having ankle surgery for ligament damage he suffered against South Carolina last Saturday.

UK offensive coordinator Randy Sanders says he'll have to play both Patrick Towles and Jalen Whitlow because he won't be able to get either one of them ready to handle the entire offense.

Sanders says he'll play to each quarterback's strengths.
