The June 7th Belmont Stakes is fast approaching and that means the field is being set for the last leg of the Triple Crown.

California Chrome, of course, is the heavy favorite and galloped fine this morning in New York.

But there will be plenty of contenders come the first Saturday in June.

A field of 12 is expected...including Medal Count...who could push Chrome a little harder than expected in the 1 1/2 mile race.

No Triple Crown winner has ever beaten more than 7 horses in the Belmont, so it would be history made in more ways than one if Chrome can pull off the first Triple Crown in 36 years.

Hear from assistant trainer, Alan Sherman, in the video.
