John Calipari says he feels a responsibility to welcome former Kentucky players back, which one ex-Cat says has been a pleasant departure from the recent past.
LEXINGTON, Ky. - Former Wildcat Derek Anderson, who helped lead Kentucky to the 1996 national title, hasn't always felt welcomed at his alma mater. Anderson says that has changed dramatically since the arrival of John Calipari at UK.
Calipari feels part of his responsibility as Kentucky's head coach is to be the "keeper of the tradition" and offer an open invitation to former players who want to return to their school.
Calipari calls it "their program."
Anderson says while he won't mention any names, it hasn't always felt welcomed before Calipari.
